The Global Lighthouse Certification Program audits 125 Global Hotel Security Standards. The Program is an amalgamation of known best standards in hotel security from around the world. In addition, standard procedures recommended by emergency services and the police, and standards that are legal obligations in most countries, are included.
The 125 standards should be found in every hotel around the world and play an important role in the safety and security of guests and employees. Eighty-seven of the 125 Global Standards are mandatory and are the minimum expectation of hotel guests.
The Global Lighthouse Certification Program is now also available for Small hotels. The criteria are tailored to hotel operations with 65 or less hotel rooms. In Small hotels we audit only 95 out of 125 Global Standards. This helps this hotel segment to be more competitive and secure at an affordable level. See Table of Comparison on page 57.
